BlogHer 2012: A Quick Recap

WOW!  BlogHer 2012 has already come and go!
All I can say is, “WOW!”  Over 5000 bloggers in attendance.
Hundreds of Brands.  Keynote Speakers.  Parties.
Fashion Show.  Networking.  Sessions…and meeting celebs!!

I just wanted to post a quick overview…with a few highlights. I do plan to do a post or two about some of the things I learned.  As  you know, sharing my experiences is incredibly rewarding for me.  Soooo, stay tuned.  While I only attended three sessions (and one them was geared to non-mommy bloggers), I learned so much not only through sessions but through one-on-one conversation.  I also learned that there are 100′s of newbies out there with a gazillion questions.   So, my creative juices are  in full speed as I begin to continue to strategize taking my blog, relationships and ideas to the next level… some that include YOU!  I’m excited and I hope you’ll get excited along with {smile}.

So, let me share a few of my BlogHer 2012 highlights.  Remember, this is a quick recap, some things will come later {promise}.

—> Getting to attend Social Luxe.  Apparently this party is one that most bloggers would kill to attend and it’s limited in number.
—> Meeting Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman {squeal}
—> Meeting Jill Zarin, formerly on Housewives of New York City
—> Getting to hang out with Cheryl from Tidy Mom {she is incredible}
—> Meeting Amanda of Kevin and Amanda {love, love, love her blog}
—> Getting invited to the Starbucks Suite to hear about the new Verismo machine coming out this Fall.  p.s. I will be buying one {totally serious too}.  It’s awe to the some!!
—> Meeting and talking with brands face to face for the first time.  Starting to create relationships is key if you are currently monetizing your blog or would like to in the future.  More on that in a later post. Be sure to come back though.  Okay? {giggle}
—> Meeting bloggers that I’ve connected with virtually or follow, but had the opportunity to meet them face to face.  A few include, but are not limited to:

Allysa @ Rags to Stiches
Digger @Digging Deeper
Jenny @ The New York Melrose Place
Karen @ The Graphics Fairy
Kelly @ Eclectically Vintage
Taunie @ SNAP
Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality
Meredith @ Meredith and Gwyneth, the New Yorkie
…and hopefully I’m not forgetting any others.

It was an overwhelmingly, fantastically, exhausting experience!  In a nutshell — an experience of a lifetime!  More to come sweet friends.  And, I can’t post this without giving another sweet shout out to my friend, Kimberly over at Here’s What I Think About That.  She so graciously gave me her BlogHer ticket after finding out she was unable to attend.  Thanks again, sweet lady!! And that’s all folks ( for today).  Wishing all of you a fabulous day!

p.s.  BlogHer 2013 is being held in Chicago, IL.  Will YOU be there?

  20. Hi, Kelly, great to meet you at BlogHer! I always come away from big conferences a little overwhelmed that I didn’t meet more people or do all the things i wanted to do. NYC was no exception, but I have to say, I did enjoy it so much and am so glad I went. Great to hang out with you a bit and hope to see you around blogland more now!
